Recently we have also pledged to the Victorian Government Take 2 initiative which aims to reach net zero emissions by 2050. As a part of Sancell’s pledge we have committed to reviewing and setting waste reduction targets in all areas of our business including manufacturing, administration, freight & logistics and warehousing.
Recycling at SancellSancell Packaging products are predominantly manufactured using high quality, Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE4). LDPE is a 100% recyclable product and can be re-milled and repurposed into bollards, decking, fencing, signage and a myriad of other outdoor and industrial products. 80% of ‘first-grade’ waste generated within our manufacturing process is recycled with our own in-house recycle machine and fed straight back into many of our stock line products. Our Recovery bubble range as well as our Armour Padded Mailer bags contain a minimum of 15% recycled material in every product, guaranteed.
LDPEAny ‘second-grade’ LDPE material scrapped during our manufacturing processes which is not suitable for in-house recycling is collected by a local, third party polymer recycler. This product us then re-milled and converted into small pellets of resin. These reworked polymers are then sold on to make a range of films and new generation plastic products.
It’s worth noting also that NO Sancell products contain nylon. Nylon can render LDPE non-recyclable.
Producing Quality ProductsAt Sancell we believe that one of the best ways to reduce waste is to produce quality products that perform exactly as they should.
Firstly, we consult with our customers to understand their precise needs and wants (there’s nothing worse than being sold goods you don’t actually need). We then source quality resins, films, foils, prints and laminates to ensure our products always perform as required.
Manufacturing the job right, to spec and to customer expectation the first time ensures resources are being used efficiently in the best and correct places.
