What is personal information and why does Sancell collect it?
Personal information is information or opinions that identify an individual. Examples of personal information Sancell collects include names, addresses, email addresses, phone, tax file numbers, and ABN numbers, etc.
This personal information is obtained in many ways including by telephone and email, via our website www.sancell.com.au, from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from third parties, etc.
Sancell collects personal information for the primary purposes of providing our services, providing information to our clients, and marketing. Personal information may also use for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where it would be reasonably expected of such use or disclosure.
Individuals may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.
When Sancell collects personal information, Sancell will, where appropriate and where possible, explain why the information is being collected and how it is planned to be used.
Sensitive information will be used by Sancell only:

When an individual’s personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, Sancell will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify the individual’s personal information. However, most of the personal information is or will be stored in client files which is kept by Sancell for a minimum of 7 years – as required by law.
Access to Personal Information
Individuals may access their own personal information that is held by Sancell to update and/or correct it when necessary, this is subject to certain exceptions. If an individual wishes to access their personal information, a written request must be made and recorded.
In order to protect personal information, identification may be requested before releasing information.
Maintaining the Quality of Personal Information
It is important to Sancell that an individual’s personal information is up to date. The appropriate steps will be taken to make sure that the individual’s personal information is accurate, complete, and up to date. If an individual finds that the information on file is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise the appropriate personnel as soon as practicable to allow records to be updated and ensure the continuation of quality services provided by Sancell.
